Jim Zoolalian has been directing commercials for more than a decade, including campaigns for Lexus, Sprint, Sears, 7-Eleven, Budweiser, MTV and more. A naturally gifted storyteller, Zoolalian is known for his work in comedy and for the seemingly effortless craftsmanship that characterizes his films and commercial work. His spots have been featured in such publications as AdWeek, Creativity and Communications Arts.
Jim’s short film, Miracle, won the coveted judges prize at the 2011 Cannes International Film Festival.
Determined to direct from boyhood, Zoolalian studied film at Art Center in Pasadena and UCLA. After winning several awards for his student work and short films, he was offered his first directing contract by T Minus 30 Films in 1994. He quickly achieved success, winning assignments from top creative agencies such as Team One, Arnold Worldwide and Carmichael Lynch. In 1999, Shoot Magazine named him one of its Directors to Watch. He joined the newly-formed Boxer Films the following year.
